The Borneo Economic Community (BEC) held a Statement of Cooperation signing ceremony during the Borneo Economic Forum 2026 in Kuching, Sarawak, bringing together 17 organisations and companies committed to advancing economic cooperation across Borneo.

The signing marks an important step in building a stronger network of business organisations, companies, and institutional partners across Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Through the Statement of Cooperation, signatories expressed their commitment to supporting greater economic integration and strengthening collaboration across the subregion.

The initiative reflects BEC’s business-driven approach to regional development, encouraging stakeholders to build partnerships, facilitate cross-border trade and investment, and identify opportunities for industrial cooperation and stronger regional value chains.

By bringing together partners from different sectors and jurisdictions, BEC aims to foster practical collaboration that translates shared economic interests into meaningful opportunities for businesses and communities across Borneo.
